Julia C Walker – Latex Mask Maker

Julia C Walker photoJulia’s passion for dressmaking and love of the arts led her to gain a degree in Theatre Design from Nottingham Polytechnic. For the past 18 years she has worked freelance in theatre, film and television specialising in making hats, headdresses, masks, jewelry, animal heads, costume props,dying and aging.

Julia has worked for many wardrobe departments inc Opera North, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Sheffield Crucible, Manchester Commonwealth games, Liberty Theatre and Royal Exchange Theatre Company. Julia works from her home studio and has plans to concentrate on millinery. She recently become a finalist in ‘The Hat Designer of the year 2010 competition’ which was exhibited at Premiere Classe in Paris, and has a hat on show in ‘Decade Parade’ at the Hat Works Museum in Stockport. She plans to pursue individual commissions and create her own millinery designs using her love of colour and form.

Julia designed & made our current set of Oozebog masks based on the originals.
